STI IN ORMOC

While STI, as one of the largest network of schools in the Philippines, has been around since 1983, the Ormoc City franchise was established in 1997, with our very first campus at the Pongos Building along Lopez Jaena Street.

When our student and staff population eventually grew, we moved to our current location at Ormoc Centrum along Aviles Street in May of 2006.

Starting with IT and Computer Engineering courses, the school diversified to focus on ICT-enhanced programs in Hospitality Management and Tourism Management.

STI's 4Cs

Having embraced the learner-centered approach as its paradigm for teaching and learning, STI seeks to provide every student with a holistic development through technology-enhanced, student-centered active learning.

The STI Learning System strives to offer learning opportunities that allow students to maximize their potential and grow into intellectual, emotional, physical, and social maturity so that they will be able to thrive in a continuously changing, technology-driven world.

Student formation is also important in the STI way of educating its learners. An STIer is further defined into 4Cs: Character, Critical thinker, Communicator, and Change-adept.

  • An STIer is a person of character. An STIer’s response, regardless of circumstances, is consistently virtuous.
  • An STIer is a critical thinker. An STIer discerns through open-minded analysis and challenges one’s beliefs to further improve creative ideas.
  • An STIer is an effective communicator. An STIer communicates to understand and be understood. He/She recognizes the emotion behind the information read or heard and expresses his/her own emotion when giving information, may it be verbal or written.
  • An STIer is change-adept. An STIer utilizes his/her ability to adapt and manage when a need for transformation or transition arises, to utilize his/her capabilities to its full extent, and build the capacity of the community where he/she belongs.
