STI is Grand Champion of the Kaanyag Festival 2025!

STI College-Ormoc has once again brought great pride and honor to Ormocanons and the entire STI network of schools by emerging as the Grand Champion (Open Category) in the recently concluded Kananga Kaanyag Festival 2025 held last June 15, 2025 at Kananga, Leyte.

STI was chosen by the Ormoc City Local Government Unit to represent the city in this prestigious festival, a recognition that stems from our being the undisputed Grand Champion of the all six editions of the annual Ormoc Piña Festival! Our school was personally invited to take part in the Kananga Kaanyag Festival by none other than our beloved Mayor, Hon. Lucy Torres Gomez, whose unwavering trust in our ability to showcase the rich culture of Ormoc truly humbles us.

The Kananga Kaanyag Festival, which began in 2023, continues to thrive and is now celebrated as one of the grandest cultural highlights in the region. This year’s event featured three contingents in the Open Category and three in the School-Based Category.

STI College-Ormoc came home with the following awards:

• 🔥 Ritual Showdown Grand Champion (Open Category) – Grand Prize of (₱500,000.00)
• 👑 Kananga Kaanyag Festival Queen 2025 – (₱50,000.00)
• 💃 Best in Street Dancing (Open Category) (₱50,000.00)
• 🎨 Best in Visual Presentation 

In line with this recent success,  our school was tapped by Mayor Hon. Lucy Torres Gomez to be the guest performer at the upcoming Piña Festival 2025, happening on June 22, 2025.

We are humbled at the trust the Ormoc City LGU has given us, and we are extremely proud of the legacy we have established in the Ormoc Piña Festival!
